Coal Network Marketing Focus
Coal Network markets to coal customers primarily located east of the Mississippi River. Specifically we serve those on the inland waterways and Great Lakes. We also serve rail and truck customers in the Southeastern United States and customers located overseas who receive coal from the Gulf. We service both utilities and industrials located in these markets with steam and specialty / stoker coals.
Strategically placed sales offices in the various coal producing basins allow for direct access to mines, terminals, and rail loading facilities.
Market Overview
Southeast
The Southeastern United States is home to many large, rail served coal fired power plants. This area of the country consumes approximately 235 million short tons of coal a year to generate electricity. The coal is sourced from all major US producing regions; however, the majority originates from mines located east of the Mississippi River. |
