Coal Network Marketing Focus

Coal Network markets to coal customers primarily located east of the Mississippi River. Specifically we serve those on the inland waterways and Great Lakes. We also serve rail and truck customers in the Southeastern United States and customers located overseas who receive coal from the Gulf. We service both utilities and industrials located in these markets with steam and specialty / stoker coals.

Strategically placed sales offices in the various coal producing basins allow for direct access to mines, terminals, and rail loading facilities.

Market Overview
Inland Waterway
Approximately 120 million short tons of coal move along the Ohio River and its navigable tributaries to coal consuming utility power plants and industrial manufacturing facilities. Many of the large coal fired electric generating plants in this region receive coal shipped by barge. The smaller industrial coal users receive most of their tonnage by rail or truck.
