Coal Network Marketing Focus

Coal Network markets to coal customers primarily located east of the Mississippi River. Specifically we serve those on the inland waterways and Great Lakes. We also serve rail and truck customers in the Southeastern United States and customers located overseas who receive coal from the Gulf. We service both utilities and industrials located in these markets with steam and specialty / stoker coals.

Strategically placed sales offices in the various coal producing basins allow for direct access to mines, terminals, and rail loading facilities.

Gulf Exports
The Port of New Orleans exports around 8 million short tons a year of coal to markets primarily in Asia and Europe. Most of the tonnage traveling through the Port of New Orleans originates in Central Appalachia and the Illinois Basin. It arrives at the mouth of the Mississippi River by barge before being loaded into larger ocean going vessels.
